Are you ready to cross off all 7 World Wonders with your Sisters? Then join Sisters Traveling Solo as we cross off our 7th of 7 World Wonders, Roman Colosseum. On this trip you will not only cross off the Colosseum but you will also visit Split, Croatia!
Croatia is famous for its sweeping beaches and rocky coves, and the ocean-hugging Split boasts plenty of them. Split, the nucleus and biggest urban city of the Dalmatian Coast, portrays an exhilarating ambiance that imprints an unforgettable fondness and familiarity in any visitors mind.
This trip is hosted by Sisters Traveling Solo LLC. Please note that you must be a member of our paid membership program or our Facebook group to join this trip. Membership will be verified after booking. Our trips are 21 years and up at the time of departure.

COLOSSEUM
The Colosseum, new seven world wonder and UNESCO World Heritage, is the largest amphitheater to be built during Roman Empire was established by Roman Emperor Vespasian who was the founder of the Flavian dynasty.

SISTINE CHAPEL
The Sistine Chapel is one of the chapels of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City State, where the pope's official residence is located.
The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is one of Michelangelo's most famous works.

BLUE CAVE
Blue Cave is the first destination you will see on your day trip from Split, Croatia. Blue cave is located on the east side of island Biševo.

PLITVATE LAKE
The Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia's most popular tourist attraction, was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979.
Tentative Itinerary
DAY 01 - JUN. 11, 2021 - ARRIVAL
Arrive at Rome International Airport (FCO). You will be met by one of our drivers, and transferred to our hotel for a short orientation. After check-in, take the rest of the afternoon at leisure rewinding from the long flight.
In the evening, we will all get together for a welcome dinner. Over dinner, we will get to know each other.
Note(s): STS will arrange arrival transfers only. Transfers will be arranged based on the group travel times. All guest will be transported as a group based on the closest arrival times. Airport arrival transfers will begin at 5:00 AM local time in Rome. Airport Transfers will only be arranged for trip start date, June 11th.

DAY 02 - JUN. 12, 2021 - ROME, ITALY
Today we will visit two of Rome’s most iconic attractions – the Colosseum and the Vatican! The Vatican museum is the most visited Museum in Italy displaying the largest art collection of the world including Michelangelo's fresco that adorne the Sistine Chapel. As you delve deeper into the Museums your guide will point out pagan sculptures, massive maps from the middle ages, and the Pope’s personal collection of paintings, tapestries, and unique treasures.
Of course, no trip to the Vatican is complete without the Sistine Chapel and you’ll get to look up at Michelangelo’s magnificent frescoes including the ‘Creation of Adam’ and the ‘Last Judgement’. His name will also be mentioned when you explore St. Peters Basilica and you stand in awe beneath his massive dome and try to make out his hand-carved name on ‘Pietá’.
After our time at the Vatican museum we will make our way to the Colosseum. Step back in time in this gruesome wonder that struck fear in the heart of both pagans and Christians. As Byron said on his first visit to the Colosseum, ‘Murder breathed her bloody steam’.
After a long day we will freshen up before heading to dinner as group.

DAY 03 - JUN. 13, 2021 - ROME, ITALY
Today after breakfast, we will see more of the famous sites in Roma! Let the Eternal City enchant you as you stroll through its picturesque cobblestone alleyways and discover some of the world’s most famous sights – all in a single afternoon! We'll see the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and the Spanish Steps along with many of the city's unsung heroes.
Stops Included: Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Emperor Marco Aurelio Column, “Montecitorio” Parliament Palace, Pantheon, Navona Square, Domitian’s Emperor Stadium (outside)

DAY 04 - JUN. 14, 2021 - ROME, ITALY

DAY 05 - JUN. 15, 2021 - SPLIT, CROATIA
Today after breakfast, we will head to the airport as we make our way to Split, Croatia!
Split, a town on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, is known for its beaches and the fortresslike complex at its center, Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards are a cathedral and numerous shops, bars, cafes, hotels and houses.
Once we arrive to our hotel, rest or explore before our group dinner later this evening.
Important - Passport copies will be needed to book your domestic flight. This information will be required at least (5) months prior to the trip departure date.
Note: that airport transfer into Split or out will be provided for anyone who books their own flight.

DAY 06 - JUN. 16, 2021 - - SPLIT, CROATIA
Today we will spend a full day on the sea, visit some of the most beautiful Croatian islands and testify to the natural phenomenon of the Blue cave on the Bisevo island. We will visit 4 beautiful islands (Bisevo, Budikovac, Paklinski and Hvar island) in a single day. We will take you to the places where you couldn't go by ferry.
Note: We are not allowed to enter the Blue Cave with our speedboat; instead, Blue Cave staff will take you on a 15 min ride with small wooden boats. Then you will witness the beauty that amazing glowing blue light creates inside the cave. In addition, our time each island may range from 1 - 2 hours max.

DAY 07 - JUN. 17, 2021 - SPLIT, CROATIA

DAY 09 - JUN. 19, 2021 - SPLIT, CROATIA
After breakfast we will head off for a full day Plitvice Lakes! Plitvice National Park has exceptionally rich and varied flora and fauna. Total of 1,267 types of plants belonging to the 109 species has been identified within the park, including 75 endemic species.
This park is home to an amazingly wide variety of animal and bird species such as the European brown bear, wolf, eagle, owl and wild cat. It is one of the last areas in Europe with such a great variety of infauna. You can even find an astonishing number of 321 different butterflies’ species.
Later this evening we will get together for our farewell dinner.

DAY 10 - JUN. 20, 2021 - SPLIT, CROATIA
After breakfast we will to the airport for our flight back to Rome. Please note that our trip concludes upon our landing into Rome airport.
Our team will work to get us on a flight that departs Split no later than 12 pm (flight time is 1.5 hours) flight departing Split. Flight times will be confirmed at least 6 months prior to trip departure date.
Note: Domestic Flight departure time will be provided (4) months before the trip departure date.
