Join Sisters Traveling Solo as we bring in the New Years on the Nile River! From the pyramids, richness in history, and river cruise down the Nile, Egypt is an exciting place to bring in the new year!  

 

During our 10 days, and 9 nights we’ll taste local dishes, interact with the people, and experience the history of Egypt.

— Dates

 

Thursday, December 27, 2018 - Saturday, January 5, 2019 (December 27 is our travel date)

— Cost - All Inclusive (includes JFK to Cairo Roundtrip Tix)

 

$3,095* per person - Shared room (2) two people; (2) twin beds on both the River Cruise and Hotel in Cairo.

​

$3,775* per person - Single room (1) one person; (1) one Twin sized bed on both the River Cruise and Hotel in Cairo.

​

*includes:  Roundtrip flight from JFK to Cairo, 4 Star Hotel Accommodations, Nile River Cruise, Cruise Accommodations, Tours, Meal* (listed in itinerary), Airport Transfers to and from Cairo

— Deposit

 

$295 per person for shared room; (2) two twin beds on both the River Cruise and Hotel in Cairo. 

​

$395 per person for single room; one person with (1) one Twin sized bed on both the River Cruise and Hotel in Cairo.  

​

— Payments

 

$350 per person monthly on the 15th (February - September) after deposit has been paid on total trip cost of $3,095.  Monthly payments are due on the 15th regardless of when the deposit is made.

 

$422 per person monthly on the 15th (February - September) after deposit has been paid on total trip cost of $3,775. September payment will be in amount of $424. Monthly payments are due on the 15th regardless of when the deposit is made.

 

— Maximum Trip Size   

 

The maximum number of People on this trip; 40* (STS Members)

*STS will be joining up with another large travel group. Between both groups there will be between 80 - 100 people on this trip.

 

— Required at the time of booking

 

When booking this trip you will need to upload a copy of your passport.  The passport cannot be expired and has to be valid at least 6 months before trip return date of January 5, 2019. 

​

We will not accept any expired passports; nor will we accept passport information after the deposit has been submitted of the booking.  Trip deposits will be funded if the passport provided is invalid.

— Itinerary 

​

DAY 1 (Dec. 27) - New York

​

Arrive in New York at JFK airport for our flight to Cairo.  

 

DAY 2 (Dec. 28) - Cairo

​

Upon arrival into Cairo we will be transported to our hotel near the Pyramids of Giza. After check-in, take the rest of the afternoon at leisure rewinding from the long flight.

​

In the evening, we will all get together for a welcome dinner where we will get to know each other. 

 

DAY 3 (Dec. 29) - Cairo

​

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go on a guided tour; visiting Saqqara and 4500 year old colored tombs. 

​

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. You will be able to take a camel ride through the Sahara desert.  And later that evening you will have the option of staying at the pyramids and witnessing the sound and light show.

​

After our day at the pyramids we will enjoy a group dinner.

DAY 4 (Dec. 30) - Cairo

​

Today after breakfast, we will take a trip to the Egyptian Museum. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo contains the world's most extensive collection of pharaonic antiquities; no visit to Egypt is complete without a trip through its galleries. The original collection was established in the late 19th century under Auguste Mariette and housed in Boulaq. The objects were moved in 1891 to the palace of Ismail Pasha in Giza before being transferred in 1902 to the current building at Tahrir Square, which is the first purpose-built museum edifice in the world.

​

Once our visit at the museum is complete, we will have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the market of Islamic Cairo.  

​

Later in the evening we enjoy a group dinner.

DAY 5 (Dec. 31) - Luxor
 

On day 5, we depart for Luxor.  Upon landing we take head off to check in on our cruise ship aboard the M/S Farrah or a similar ship. 

 

After we get settled on board, we will have lunch on the ship. Later that afternoon we will visit the temple of Kamak, the largest temple ever built for a God.  

​

This evening we will bring in the evening with a New Years dinner and masquerade ball. 

​

DAY 6 (Jan. 1) - Luxor

​

Today after breakfast on the ship, we visit the Valley of the Kings and Colossai of Menmon. 

 

The Valley of the Kings, is a valley in Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock cut tombs were excavated for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. It was part of the ancient city of Thebes and was the burial site of almost all the Egyptian kings (Pharaohs) of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties. 

 

After lunch on the ship, we will cruise the Nile to Edfu. 

​

DAY 7 (Jan. 2) - Luxor
 

After enjoying breakfast on the ship, we head to the Temple of Edfu. Temple of Horus, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful and preserved Temples in Egypt, edfu temple dates back to Ptolemaic times. It's located on the west bank of the Nile in Edfu, Upper Egypt.  The city was known in Greco-Roman times as Apollonopolis Magna, after the chief god Horus-Apollo.

 

After our tour of the temple we will enjoy lunch on the ship.

 

After lunch we visit the Temple of Komobo.  The Temple of Kom Ombo is an unusual double temple in the town of KmOmbo in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180 - 47 DC. Some additions to it were later made during Roman period. 

​

This evening we will enjoy dinner on the ship 

​

DAY 8 (Jan. 3) - Luxor
 

Today after breakfast we will start our sight seeing off with a visit Temple of Phaile.  The Temple dedicated to Isis the Goddess of Love built on an island in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser, Egypt.

​

We will head back to the ship for lunch before taking a Falucca sail ride down the Nile. Feluccas are simple, traditional Egyptian sailboats, crewed by local sailors. The felucca sails during the day, taking in the colorful sights of the Nile village life.  En route there will be various stops; both planned and impromptu.  The boat's deck is draped with soft colorful cushions that serve as your lounging and meal area during the day and your sleeping area at night.

We will make a stop to visit a Nubian Village on Elephantine Island. Once we are back we will enjoy our final group dinner on the ship. 

​

DAY 9 (Jan. 4) - Cairo  
 

After breakfast we fly back to Cairo.  You will have some feel time to relax, or take in some additional sights after we check into our hotel.  Later in the evening we meet for a group farewell dinner at a local restaurant.  

​

DAY 10 (Jan. 5) - Cairo

​

On our final day, we will enjoy breakfast and begin to depart to the airport for flight back to New York (JFK).   

​

​

Private Facebook Group - Once deposit has been paid, you will receive an invitation to our private Facebook group.  In the group, we answer all questions you may have regarding your upcoming trip.  The private Facebook group allows you to connect with others before you go, share travel tips, and maintain friendships when you return. We will share trip updates within this Facebook group. 

​

'Know Before You Go' Call - To ensure you are all ready for your trip, we will hold a conference call two weeks before the trip to go over our 'Know Before You Go' document. 

​

Airport Transfers – We’ll arrange your airport pickup and drop off

​

International Roundtrip Flight – From New York (JFK) to Cairo. You must be in New York for our trip departure date of 12/27/18. If you are located outside the US, contact Sisters Traveling Solo. We do our best to try to make trip arrangements to accommodate your location. There are no guarantees that we can, but we will try. (Flight does not include baggage fees)

​

Domestic Roundtrip Flight – From Cairo to Luxor.  (Flgiht does not include baggage fees)

 

Local Transportation - All ground transportation to and from our activities.

 

Accommodations4 Star hotel in Cairo; 4 Star accommodations aboard a Nile river cruise.

Activities – As described in the above itinerary. Camel ride and light show entry not included.

 

Meals -  Daily breakfast. Lunch and Dinners listed in the above itinerary. Meal not included on during free day (does not include alcohol). 

 

STS Apparel – Each guest will be provided with a STS T-shirt.

Accommodation -  4 Star hotel in Cairo; 4 Star accommodations aboard a Nile river cruise.

Hotel Lodging - Each room includes 2 Twin Beds (double occupancy) or 1 Twin bed (single occupancy)

Nile Cruise Lodging - Each room includes 2 Twin Beds (double occupancy) or 1 Twin bed (single occupancy)


Roommates – If you do not have a paid roommate, we will pair you with another STS member.  If you have a roommate who has paid their deposit, please provide us with their name and we will pair you two.

— Total Cost 

 

Shared Double Room - $3,095 per person

Deposit Required - $295 per person; 8 Monthly Payments - $350
​

Single Room - $3,775 per person

Deposit Required - $395 per person; 8 Monthly Payments - $422 (September will be in amount of $424)

— Payment Terms

​

Payment Term is 8-month period (February - September) - Monthly payment is total cost of $3,095 double occupancy ($3,775 single occupancy) minus trip deposit dividend by 8. Payments are due on the 15th of each month regardless of when deposit is made.  Payments must be made on time.

​

A $75 late charge will be applied to all payments made after the 3-day grace period.  Missed payments will be applied to the next month plus the $75 late fee. Trip will be automatically cancelled after two missed payments.  No refund of deposit or payments will be provided to a trip cancelled due to missed payments. If trip is cancelled due to missed payments, trip deposit cannot be applied to any future Sisters Traveling Solo trips.

Your trip must be paid in full by 8/15/18. Please contact us if you are having difficulties making your payment.

 

 

— Refund Policy

​

Full refunds minus the nonrefundable deposit will be given up until April 15, 2018.  After April 15, 2018, there will be no refunds.

​

Non-refundable deposit due to guarantee booking.  

  • If you cancel your trip your deposit can be applied to a future Sisters Traveling Solo (STS) trip that you are not paying on at the time of cancellation.

  • If your trip is cancelled due to missed payments your deposit and payments are nonrefundable. 

  • If your trip is cancelled due to missed payments, you cannot apply the deposit to any future STS trips or any trip you are making payments on. 

 

— Transfer Policy

​

There will be no transfers allowed for this trip as we are booking international and domestic flights.  If you cannot absolutely make the trip; we will allow a transfer to be made. 

  • You will be required to find a replacement and arrange payment with them. 

  • You will also be required to pay any change fee by the airline to change passenger information on both the international and domestic flights.   

​

Flights -  Roundtrip flight into New York (JFK)

 

Baggage Fees - Baggage for international or domestic flights

Alcoholic Beverages - Alcoholic beverages are not included in cost

​

Meals - Meals on half a free day

​

Souvenirs - Cost of souvenirs.

​

Gratuity - for Guides, Drivers, or Waiters. 

​

Additional Excursions -  Outside of what was mentioned above. Camel ride and light show entry is an additional cost.

Visas - Any travel visas that may required based on Country of residency. You MUST obtain your visa prior to leaving the US.  The cost for US citizens is $15.

— Required After Deposit Is Paid

 

Travel Insurance - Travel Insurance is not provided but is REQUIRED to attend this trip.  You will be asked to show proof of travel insurance before we depart.  A minimum of $250,000 in travel insurance is REQUIRED.
