Join Sisters Traveling Solo as we head to Japan and South Korea! We will spend our ten days and nine nights participating in local customs, interacting with the people, and experiencing the beauty of both countries.

IMPORTANT - This trip is during the 2020 Summer Paralympics! Sisters Traveling Solo is not offering Paralympic tickets or packages. Sisters Traveling Solo does not assist in obtaining Paralympics event tickets.

The trip opens on November 29, 2019, at 8 am EST. You must be a member of Sisters Traveling Solo Facebook group or a member of our membership program to book this trip. To join our membership program, click here. Entry into the program takes at least two weeks, so apply beforehand if you want to book this trip. You must be a confirmed member before submitting your deposit.

Important: This trip starts in Tokyo and will end when we land back at the Tokyo airport from Seoul. Our team will work to get us on a flight that departs Seoul no later than 12 PM (the flight time is 2 hours). We will work with the airline to get a confirmation of our group on one of the morning flights. Flight details will be provided at least (4) months before the trip departure date.

— Payments - Non Refundable - Trip payments will start on January 15th.
1st trip payment will be due on January 15, 2020. Non-refundable payments are due on the 15th of each month. Monthly payments are due on the 15th regardless of when the deposit is made.

Anyone without a roommate will be paired with another member on the trip. If you have a roommate, you will be asked for your roommate's information two months before the trip departure date. Please avoid emailing us your request after booking.

— Itinerary
​
DAY 1 (August 27) - Tokyo
​
Upon arrival into Tokyo, you will be transferred to our hotel via one of our (4) pre-set transfer times. After check-in, take the rest of the afternoon at leisure rewinding from the long flight.
​
In the evening, we will all get together for a welcome dinner at the hotel where we will get to know each other.

DAY 2 (August 28) - Tokyo - City Tour
​
After breakfast at the hotel, we will go on a guided tour of Tokyo; visiting many of the major sites in Tokyo. After a full day of sightseeing, we will head to lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to our hotel.

Later this evening we will get together to enjoy a group dinner.

DAY 3 (August 29) - Tokyo - Kimono Dress up, Tea Ceremony, Museum
​
Today after breakfast, we will experience an authentic Japanese tea ceremony held in a traditional tatami matted room. Wear a beautiful kimono as you take part in a ceremony conducted by a professional tea master who will explain the art of tea in English.
​
Once our tea ceremony is complete, we will head to the Digital art museum. We will experience a one-of-a-kind digital art museum that only available in Tokyo. Exploring a three-dimensional space created with 520 computers and 470 projectors Blend into a digital world and take unbelievable photos Wander through the 10,000 square meters of immersive artworks.

DAY 4 (August 30) - Tokyo - Free Day
FREE DAY - Partake in the Olympic experience, or see more of the many sights in Tokyo like Mt. Fuji!

DAY 5 (August 31) - Tokyo - Free Day

DAY 6 (September 1) - Tokyo to Seoul
After breakfast, we depart for Seoul, South Korea. Upon landing, we head tour hotel to check-in.
Later this evening, we get together for a group dinner.

DAY 7 (September 2) - Seoul - Village & Temples
Today after breakfast, we will begin our full-day tour of Seoul! Our 1st stop will be at Gyeongbokgung Palace. This royal palace located to the north of the capital was built for the first time in the fourteenth century and then a second time in the nineteenth century. This "Greatly Blessed by Heaven"; is one of the five palaces from the Choson (Joseon) dynasty and includes the Folk museum and its collection of traditional Korean life. Next, we will visit Jogyesa Temple, which is one of the most important of the city and heart of Jogyejong Buddhist Order, practicing Zen meditation.

After visiting Jogyesa Temple, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
​
In the afternoon, walk through "Hanok" village of Bukchon. Known as the North Village, this area is home to some 900 traditional Korean houses. It offers a unique cultural immersion in ancient Korean times.
Our day will end with some live entertainment at the Nanta Cooking Show.

DAY 8 (September 3) - Seoul - Shopping
After breakfast, head out for another full day of sightseeing! Our tour will start with a visit to the Namsan Tower (one way by cable car, and one way of walking up). Once our tower visit is complete, we will visit the Insadong Art and Antique area for shopping.

DAY 9 (September 4) - Seoul - Free Day

After breakfast, we will travel to the airport for our flight back to Tokyo. Please note that our trip concludes upon or arrival back into Tokyo. Our team will work to get us on a flight that departs Seoul no later than 12 PM (the flight time is hours) Flight times will be confirmed at least (4) months before the trip departure date.

Important note: Due it being the Olympic period our hotel in Tokyo has advised that breakfast may not be available on site due to quality issues. Breakfast in Tokyo only is not included in the cost of this trip. If breakfast is available on site upon available guest would need to pay for breakfast each morning.

Airport Transfers – Transfers will be arranged based on group travel times. All guests will be transferred as a group based on the closest arrival times. Airport arrival transfers will begin at 5:00 AM local time. Airport transfers will be arranged for the trip start and end date only.

Accommodations - 10 days, 9 nights in both Tokyo and Seoul. Rooms will consist of one full or two twin beds based on occupancy. Breakfast in Tokyo is not included in the cost of this trip. If breakfast is available on site upon available guest would need to pay for breakfast each morning.

Hotel Amenities Include: Air-conditioning, wireless internet, in-room safe, a satellite TV, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. Twin beds may be in close approximately to one another, but there will be two separate twin beds.

Full Payment Special - $100 off total cost if full payment is made by 1/15/20. Cannot be used in conjunction with $75 off membership discount nor our Black Friday deal.
Trip will be automatically canceled after ONE missed payment. Payments are due on the 15th of each month. A (3) day grace period will be given to make trip payments each month. After the 3-day grace period ends (18th at 11:59 PM EST), the trip will be canceled. No refund of deposit or trip payments will be provided for any reason.
— Invoices

Payments will be made via an invoice. The invoice can be paid via Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or Discover card. Invoices are sent to the email address that members provide. It is guest responsibility to sign up to the client portal to make payments for each trip each month. (1) invoice is sent to all clients each month, invoices are sent to clients at least 10 days before they are due.

24- hour cancellation.
The deposit will be refunded upon request 24-hours after the trip has been booked. After 24-hours of booking, no refunds of deposits will be given.
​
Non-refundable deposit and payments. After 24-hours of booking, no refunds of deposits or payments will be given.
​Deposit or Payment Transfer to Future Trips - Trip deposit nor payments made towards the trip can be applied to another trip.
​
Trip Transfer of Deposit, Payments, or Total Trip to Another Guest - Guest cannot transfer trip deposit, payments or their trip to any other guest.
​
We highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance if you have to cancel your trip for any reason covered.

Local Transport – Outside of the organized activities.
Meals – Lunches, or dinners not included above. No alcoholic beverages or desserts are included in any of the meals.

Insurance – Neither travel or health insurance are included, but all members are REQUIRED to show proof of travel insurance (1) one month before the trip departure date. Minimum travel coverage required is $150,000.
Souvenirs - Cost of souvenirs.
Luggage Check-in Cost - Cost to check your luggage during inter-country flights or ferries.

Travel Visa - Any Visa required for the trip.
Gratuity - for Tour guides, Drivers, Hotel Staff, or Waiters.

Additional Hotel Cost – Outside of what has already been arranged by Sisters Traveling Solo (STS).

Hotel Deposits - Members will be asked to put down a card credit for room incidentals. This hold will be removed upon check out if not room incidentals were changed. If you are in a double room, you and roommate should discuss who will put down their credit card beforehand. Noting that the 1st one to arrive at the hotel cannot check-in without putting down a credit card. STS will not put down deposits for any room.

Travel Insurance - Travel Insurance is not provided but is REQUIRED to attend this trip. You will be asked to show proof of travel insurance before we depart. A minimum of $150,000 in travel insurance is REQUIRED; coverage in total must cover (medical & evacuation).
Sisters Traveling Solo will not travel with or include anyone in trip activities who don’t present the required travel insurance documentation at least 6 weeks before the trip departure date. STS will alert you when and how to provide travel insurance information, please avoid emailing us any information. When requested travel insurance information to include the requested coverage amounts and the dates that cover the span of our trip.
