Trip Overview

Join us as we bring in Labor day in Seychelles!  The Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands off the east coast of Africa, are know for being extremely beautiful - and extremely expensive. 

 

Seychelles is home of the best beaches in the WORLD!  The beaches in Seychelles have so much to offer. The sand is super fine and blindingly white. The water is warm and every shade of blue imaginable. The best part, even the most popular beaches are never what most people would consider crowded.  

Most of the beaches here are totally untouched and many are naturally surrounded by palm trees and lush vegetation to provide some welcome shade throughout the day.  Seychelles offers the best beach getaway that one could ever experience.   

This trip is hosted by Sisters Traveling Solo LLC. Please note that you must be a member of our paid membership program or our Facebook group to join this trip. Membership will be verified after booking. Our trips are 21 years and up at the time of departure.

Tour Highlights

ISLAND VISIT - MAHE 

Mahé is the largest island in the Seychelles archipelago, in the Indian Ocean off East Africa. Its terrain is defined by white-sand beaches such as those in the popular resort area of Beau Vallon. 

Beau Vallon is the are in Mahe we will be staying throughout the the duration of our trip.

ISLAND VISIT - PRASLIN

Praslin is an island in the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean. It’s known for palm-fringed beaches, like Anse Georgette and Anse Lazio, both bordered by large granite boulders.

ISLAND VISIT - LA DIGUE

 

La Digue is an island in the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean off East Africa. It’s known for its beaches, like Anse Source d’Argent, dotted with granite boulders, on the west coast.

HOTEL LOCATION


Our single hotel is located in Beau Vallon. Beau Vallon is a bay on the north western coast of Mahé in the Seychelles. Beau Vallon Beach is a well-frequented and is possibly the most popular beach on the island.

Tentative Itinerary

DAY 01 - SEPT. 1, 2021​ - ARRIVAL SEYCHELLES

Upon arrival into Mahe (SEZ), you will be transported via one of our group transfer times to our hotel. After check-in, take the rest of the afternoon at leisure rewinding from the long flight.

Note: Airport transfers are provided from 5 AM and end at 11 PM local time on September 1, 2021. Hotel check-in is 3 PM.

DAY 02 - SEPT. 2, 2021​ - MAHE - FULL DAY TOUR OF THE SOUTH 

Discover the main highlight of one of the World’s smallest capital, Victoria. Visit at the center of Victoria and the market. You will have an opportunity to see the clock tower, the court house, shop for souvenirs at the curio stalls or explore the colorful market of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and spices. The tour will also take you to the Botanical Gardens one of Seychelles’ oldest National Monuments, dating
back more than a century. It houses a wide collection of mature, exotic and endemic plants within five acres of landscaped and beautifully maintained.

After the visit proceed for lunch at the Restaurant. Once our lunch is complete our tour will complete with a visit to the Mission Lodge which was then called Venn’s Town and was founded in 1835 by the Church Missionary Society. This was the island’s first school which was built for children of the freed slaves who could not return to their homeland and they could speak neither English nor Creole. They chose this site as it was the cheapest crown land available, at a yearly rental fee of 50 acres for 50 cents at that time! The original painting of Venn’s Town which was painted by British artist who visited Seychelles in 1883, In the cool mountain air of Morne Blanc, amid terrace upon terrace of tea plants you will discover, first hand, how Seychelles’ tea is made established in 1962, this unit is responsible for growing and manufacturing tea in the Seychelles. The Tea Factory enjoys a splendid panoramic view of the western
slopes of Mahé and is undoubtedly one of the finest viewing points on the island.

DAY 03 - SEPT. 3, 2021​ - PRASLIN ISLAND 

The "Heart of Praslin" is home to remnants of the original palm jungles of the Seychelles and has often been described as a "Garden of Eden" thanks to its secluded and mystical nature. It's possible to follow the traces of prehistory in this pristine jungle area, unchanged for millions of years, and find all six of the endemic palm species that can be found here. The Coco de Mer, the largest seed in the world, is particularly admired by visitors, and is the reason for the National Park's world heritage site status, which was recognized in 1983 thanks to the Vallée de Mai's 'excellent exemplification of a characteristic Seychelles palm forest'.

The Vallée de Mai is also home to the rare Black Parrot, of which there are three species in the Seychelles and one more sub-species in
Madagascar. The birds are very shy and usually can only be heard.  

A small café at the park entrance invites you to take a breather, and, of course, there are souvenir shops too. After a quick break we will be transferred to Anse Lazio beach.  First we will have lunch, then have some leisure time to enjoy the beach.

DAY 04 - SEPT. 4, 2021​ - LA DIGUE ISLAND

Upon arrival on La Digue island we will take a bicycle ride to L’union Estate for the Copra hill, Emmanuel House, vanilla plantation,  ortoise pen.  We will then proceed to one of the most beautiful beach Anse Source D'Argent to swim, snorkel or relax.  Bicycle ride to the

DAY 05 - SEPT. 5, 2021​ - MAHE - FULL DAY TOUR OF THE SOUTH

La Plaine St Andre , the Estate was once home to copra kilns along with cinnamon and patchouli distilleries. Now it is where the taste of paradise in the making the Takamaka Rum. Take a guided tour of their garden flourishing once again with the many medicinal plants, herbs and fruit trees what it known for. La Plaine St. André delighted to offer you the opportunity to visit and experience the full process of crushing cane, fermentation, distillation and view the barrel Storage, finally flavoring your favorite one at the Rum tasting.

Depart La Plaine St Andre, Inspired by the original back in the 18th century, the islands were a hub for the spice trade. For a taste of the islands' history, spend some time touring Le Jardin du Roi. Sitting on the hilly terrain above Anse Royale beach on Mahé's southeast coast, this old spice garden is still steeped in the aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and a variety of other spices. You can enjoy the scents and scenery as you wander the gardens, learn about Seychelles' spice trade at the small onsite museum, get up close to giant tortoises, participate in a guided hike.

After the visit proceed for lunch at a local restaurant.  Once lunch is done we will continue the tour for time at leisure at the beach, for swimming, relaxing or simply walk along the beach while the waves splash to your feet.

DAY 06 - SEPT. 6, 2021 - MAHE - DEPART

On our final day, we will enjoy breakfast and begin to depart back home via one of our group transfers.
